Tameside Triumph

More than a hundred people turned up on the day to take part in Tameside XL. It was a challenging ‘adventure’ tri for adrenaline lovers and although it had a tough, fairly technical mountain bike section, it proved manageable for ‘tri newbies’ who wanted to try something different.
We fundraised for the Willow Wood Hospice and managed to generate £2000 all together.


Mark Roberts was the first to cross the finish line with the impressive time of 01:12:30, followed by Team Athletematters (01:23:01) in second and David McCabe in third place (01:23:15).


Next year Tameside XL will take place on the 3rd October 2010 at The Copley Centre, Stalybridge, Cheshire – we look forward to seeing the same faces again in 2010.
