TRANSITIONS

Do you want to get your overall race time down without pushing your body even harder? Of course you do!


Getting your transitions slick and fast will help you do just that. The difference between an efficient slick transition and a badly executed one can literally be minutes.

A couple of 10 minute practices per week can help you nail your transitions come race day. The more you practice the better you'll get, otherwise the only time you'll get experience of transitioning is at a race.

You will need to plan ahead your strategy for the race. How will you go from the swim to the bike? Will you be using bike shoes? If so, will they be already clipped to your pedals, or will you put them on first then clip in once you've mounted the bike?

Once back from the ride, will you leave the shoes clipped to the pedals, or will you run into T2 wearing them?
