BRICKS
Nope, nothing to do with the building trade!
A brick is doing a training session where you go from a bike ride straight into a run. The idea is get your body accustomed to the feeling of transitioning from one to the other, so that come race day you know what to expect! Expect this - for it to feel like your feet have bricks strapped to them!
You’ll rarely have enough time to fit in a brick session amongst the other training that you do - but it is strongly advised that you get a couple under your belt before your first race.
You could also do a swim to bike brick session - but this is a lot more difficult to organise as you need to have your bike secure, yet easy to get off riding on as well as storing your equipment and getting from the swim to your bike, if in the leisure centre etc.
